Oregon governor insane…

Go. Kate Brown has seen Portland besieged by rioting,  arson,  looting,  and assaults for over 100 days.   On Friday,  the Governor declared a state of  emergency in  Portland,  making it clear that she was acting only because the Proud Boys, a controversial conservative group,  had said they intended to hold a rally in the city on Saturday.   They were planning an “End Domestic Terrorism” demonstration,  despite the city’s rejection of a permit for the event.    Counter-protesters were planning a simultaneous event,  according to an online flyer that reads: “Calling All Everyday Antifascists: Join Us At Bloom … No Proud Boys in the Rose City.”

“The Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer groups have come to Portland time and time again from out of state looking for a fight and the results are always tragic,” Gov. Brown also said.   Mayor Ted Wheeler  also denounced  the Proud Boys and proclaimed in a tweet:  “… alt-right groups and white nationalists are intent on coming into our community.  These groups empower racism, intolerance and hate.  Those are not Portland values, and they are not welcome.  Hate has no home in Portland.”   He failed to mention all the hate he has encouraged for over three months.

The Left and the media  (but I repeat myself)  routinely claim that Proud Boys are white nationalists.  They never explain the blacks and Hispanics who help make up their ranks.   Many of the Proud Boys are veterans.  They were happy to have a cross-section in their video announcing success in having the governor declare an emergency and permit the use of tear gas by Portland Police.   Also Portland’s Rapid Response Team have been deputized as Federal Marshals. This will allow federal prosecutors to charge allegations of assault on a federal officer to anyone who attacks Officers.

What happened on last Saturday?  Not very much.   Less than 800 Proud Boys showed up,  the Left-leaning counter-protesters were more numerous,  and the so-called extremists caused no trouble,  while,  despite Oregon Live’s best efforts to hide the truth,  the  lefties were  the ones who committed traffic offenses and threw rocks at troopers.   I would judge this as yet another win for the Proud Boys.   The Left has not yet grasped that the group’s members are not just proud,  but also quite tough.

 

 

 

 

Christians came…

…to D.C.,  tens of thousands of them,  and  they prayed  for the people and the nation,  repented, and sought God’s attention and mercy.   They did not trash the city.   They did not loot.   They did not riot.   They did not commit acts of arson.   They did nothing which required anything of the small police presence.  You can watch a replay of The Return portion here.   Images of the march can be viewed  here.     And no matter what your religion,  or lack thereof,  you should be grateful that others are willing to do this on your behalf.   I wonder where BLM and Antifa were…..
