Scream nation…
Iceland’s tourist board has set up a website allowing people to record themselves venting their frustration over COVID-19 madness. The collected screams will then be played over seven loudspeakers in a remote part of Iceland. I never thought much of primal therapy, which was popularized in the 1970’s as a way to attempt to tap into repressed issues and relieve stress and anxiety, but I must confess I have seen the release promoted by a hearty yell or bout of cursing.
By the way, the total territory of Iceland is less than 40,000 square miles. Because so much of it is incredibly harsh in geological terms, has the lowest population density of all European countries at just 8 people per square mile, so there aren’t many people to be annoyed by the scheme. In the meantime, let’s hope PETA doesn’t get wind of this assault upon nature…
