Redwood killer…

A hiker in Muir Woods National Monument in California was killed by  a falling  redwood tree on Christmas Eve.   The location was not one of those affected by a recent storm and closed to the public,  but redwoods have shallow roots and are subject to lacking sufficient support in wet soil.
