Very uplifting, but…

This is  a tale  of two hikers caught in bad weather, one unprepared,  the other prepared and the savior of the first.  It is very inspiring and uplifting, but why the hell would anyone set out alone without an epirb unit?

I take my cell phone if I am just going to the back of my property.  If I were hiking elsewhere, I would have an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon in my backpack,  and if I were in a group,  I wouldn’t be the only one so equipped.
