New York corruption pit…
It has long struck me that so much of New York State is bedeviled by corruption. And then I realize that nearly all of the state is run by Democrats, and all of the many agencies who should be investigating corruption at all levels are Democrats, and they are all deeply intertwined and connected to the political machines, which are themselves quite corrupt. Thus it falls to the feds to bring charges, and there are a lot of them to bring. This is only the latest.
This piece by Seth Barron usefully examines the situation, but does not offer an immediate solution. How could it? The first step would be to stop electing/hiring crooks and cheats and the morally challenged, which would pave the way for the second phase, which is to force agencies to police their own and those those within their purview.
As always, I am quite satisfied to view New York from afar, and I would ferociously object to being forced to live there and suffer under its hideous policies.
