This is  quite ingenious,  but the lack of a top is a problem for me.   However, it appears that simply adding an additional piece would keep the eggs safely in place even if inverted,  so perhaps it will catch on.

I must confess I complained when so many producers began using the foam cartons instead of paper ones,  but I have found both types work fine for staring plants from seeds.  I just need to use an ice pick to prick a hole in the bottom of each cup in the foam versions to ensure proper drainage.
