Saturday Iraq statement…
You can watch Obama’s statement before leaving for Martha’s Vineyard here. He found time to blame the current problem on bad intelligence estimates. Well, excuse me, but just how intelligent must one be not to notice that thousands of fighters moving in concert constitutes a potential problem?
Ben Shapiro has finally figured out what the Obama Doctrine is. It’s not “leading from behind,” as many critics claim. It is “pretend to give a damn, until you don’t have to.” His Oneness seems to operate on the theory that he can drop the pretense when he figures no one is looking any more. The problem is that he doesn’t understand what a strategy is, and he clearly has no specific goal in mind other than to avoid being blamed for anything. Pinprick strikes don’t win wars. We are now at an anti-Kilpatrick moment.
Meanwhile, are Silvio Canto and I the only ones to appreciate the irony in the air strikes being launched from a carrier named after Bush 41?
