Debate 1 reaction…
Andrew Malcolm offers a fine dissection, while this clever fellow has an “uh” counter. I especially liked the Washington Times editorial on the god who bleeds, as well as Jonah Goldberg’s portrayal of His Oneness as far less than the great orator and scholar the lunatic left sold him as. Charles Krauthammer writes that Romney basically undid $150 million of character assassination advertising by the Obama campaign, which I think is correct.
Pamela Geller asks whether voters will overcome the liberal/left spinning which is now coming at us at warp speed. The out of the gate response by the debate loser’s team is that Romney’s a liar!, which would be dangerous if the public could depend on media itself to be truthful. Kim Strassel points out there is much worse to come from the Chicago machine, as does Peggy Noonan, here.
Dana Milbank, a reliable Obama fan, finds a way to not really blame His Oneness for his poor performance. I forgave moderator Jim Lehrer for throwing a couple of lifelines to Obama, because for the most part he stayed out of the way and let them have at it, which resulted in this upcoming cover for The New Yorker.
