Empty chair day…

Labor Day was turned into  empty chair day  with thousands tweeting shots of empty chairs in various spots,  and some of the best appear at the end of the linked article.   The team of His Oneness is not accustomed  to being the butt of Republican humor,  and it isn’t handling it very well.   Neither are Mr.  Obama’s fellow  travelers.

Some of them  are fighting  back,  but it’s rather difficult to portray even an 82 year old Clint Eastwood as a doddering wreck.   Jonah Goldberg sees the attacks as helpful to  Romney,  and Aaron  Goldstein agrees.   Michael Walsh lays out why the performance was useful to the Romney  team electorally.   His Oneness has never in his life been the target of mockery.   He has always been the one whose path was smoothed,  not by himself with a shovel and broom,  but by the efforts of others.

What a shock it must be to get such a large dose of harsh reality at such an inconvenient time.
