Can’t afford to work…

I’ve been proving this  to families for years,  and I still despair at the number of reasonably intelligent men and women who can’t or won’t simply put a pencil to paper and figure this out.  Whoever stays home learns how to cook,  preferably taking cues from the Amish and the Cajuns.  It’s possible to make delicious,  highly nutritious meals which cost much less per person than a burger and fries.   When you aren’t paying for convenience,  good food isn’t wildly expensive.   If you swap your time for the cost of pre-packaged convenience,  you save money automatically.   And anybody can learn to cook competently —  all you have to do is care.

Grope and change…

I’ve used Mark Steyn’s own headline,  because there isn’t a better one  for his take  on the Secret Service scandal.   The only thing I think he missed was that the behavior of the detail shows a profound contempt for Pres. Obama  —  the same contempt His Oneness displays for us common folks.
