Waterboarding explained…

Marc Thiessen  nails the reason  I seldom listen to people waxing hysteric about this particular enhanced interrogation technique.   While others may use it to extract information on the spot,  we use it to gain compliance.  It works because it stimulates the human limbic system,  over which we have virtually no control.   It’s the control system which makes you move your hand because the stove is so hot,  before the average person has time to process the sensory information with the conscious brain.   And it doesn’t meet my criteria for being torture,  although the people I know who have been waterboarded say it is an extremely unpleasant experience.
