Sheepish…

Having raised a lamb myself,  I can verify that sheep are not the brightest animals on the planet,  but like all herd animals,  they get the concept of safety in numbers.   Border collies are bred to intimidate sheep,  and many can do so with only eye contact .   Mine never saw a sheep except on TV,  but he had  “the eye”,   and  could herd small children like Mary Poppins.   If I turned my back for 5 minutes,  Jackson would herd youngsters into a convenient corner,  and the small humans would be quite perplexed as to how they ended up there.

This is a column  on a Welsh dog who is afraid of the sheep when they stand their ground.   Most Border collies will  display escalating threat stances and even nip the sheep.    It is highly unusual to come across one who turns tail.
