If only…
I do wish His Oneness would read the book thrown at him, if this cartoon were true.
His Oneness as Janus…
This New York Times piece is really quite astonishing. You can almost see Michael Shear hesitating over his keyboard as he attempts to write something displaying less than slobbering adoration of His Oneness, even if it is Obama himself saying what must be typed.
Obama says the Republicans, who will most likely have the majority in the House, will be more willing to cooperate with him and help his agenda. Rep. Paul Ryan isn’t holding his breath for any White House cooperation on fiscal matters. Does His Oneness say this because he believes it? He’s arrogant enough to, certainly. Is it an attempt to portray some shred of humility, however false?
Does he think any of it rings true when he also admitted there were no “shovel-ready” projects, after spending nearly two years lying about them for the original stimulus? Why stop there? Why not admit that your green projects are just so much cow manure, merely another means of redistribution?
Also in the Times, Matt Bai views the current youth outreach, with a carefully staged town hall meeting, as a test for Obama’s 2012 campaign ground game. (h/t K-Lo at The Corner). Peter Baker was also pressed into service to portray His Oneness as having learned and grown in office. To me all it does is portray a man absolutely ignorant of how cumbersome government is, a man who ignored what he could have learned in four years in the Senate had he paid the slightest attention. Mark Hemingway conducts a full autopsy of the interview here. (h/t Jim Geraghty)
The president and his minions have spent weeks employing the Alinsky method and now he thinks we’ll all fall for this different version? I am tired of being told how utterly brilliant Mr. Obama is, and what a pensive, thoughtful man he is .
Yes, my fellow Americans, His Oneness really does think you’re precisely that stupid. He already has proof that many of his core supporters are, that they don’t know the difference between class and flash. I’m betting you do.
