Rodent’s redoubt…

with 2 comments

This  picture of a vole scurrying in front of His Oneness has been everywhere.    If it had been a rat,  as Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said,  it would have prompted me to comment on how at home it was with Chicago tenents,  but the vole is closer to a field mouse or a mole,  furry,  and kind of cute.

Voles can wreak havoc in a garden,  eating bulbs,  seeds,  flowers,  leaves,  and the roots of shrubs,  as well as insects,  but they’re food for snakes and owls.   I want to know if Our Lady of Perpetual Dissatisfaction is calling in the exterminators to protect the garden she steps in when a camera’s rolling.

  1. “Our Lady of Perpetual Dissatisfaction”, now that is classics. Well played. Might the vole have been from Mars? http://wp.me/pMW8w-gL
