I’ve even included a comment from the very liberal Ellen Ratner, despite her tendency to treat military personnel as hapless victims.  It won’t surprise you that The Nation uses the day to bewail  the fate of females in the military.    The ever-nimble Obama not only did Arlington, but sent wreaths to the Confederate Memorial there, and to the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington’s historically black U Street neighborhood.
