Our world is home to some of the most beautiful streets,  roads,  and paths you can imagine.   I have seen  a few  of these  in person.   Have you visited any of these sites?

Queen Sheila…

United Airlines  has apologized  to the customer whose seat they gave away to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee,  who is always high on the list of the most unpleasant people on the planet.  But not even a $500 travel voucher to the passenger is sufficient to make up for the airline’s cowardice in the face of the arrogance and greed of the  Congressional battleaxe.

Of course the only airline ever to stand up to Lee’s  repeated bad  behavior no longer exists,  making the rest especially wary.  The woman is a characterless clump of dumb,  but she does wield real power,  despite blaming the current situation,  entirely of her own making,  on racism.  Shame on her constituents who keep voting her back into office instead of throwing her ass to the curb where it belongs.

Move to Candela…

…and Nicola Gatta,  the mayor of this quaint medieval Italian town,  will pay you.  As an incentive,  he reminds us that the town used to be called Little Naples until the 1960’s when the bustling community began falling out of favor with tourists,  then residents.

I hope the mayor’s initiative pays off grandly so the Baroque heart of the town lives on, with a decent number of people to provide a tax base.  Since one has to live there and rent a house there,  it might be hard to arrange sufficient income to be comfortable,  but it’s not far from beaches and is set in a beautiful lush landscape,  so it might be worth a try.

Unclaimed baggage…

leave a comment »

If you have never visited the  Unclaimed Baggage  Center in Scottsboro, Alabama,  you have missed out on the only facility of its kind in the USA,  as well as a place to shop at enormous discounts.   On any given day you may find  jewelry,  designer clothing and an array of electronic devices.

There is no online catalog because the offerings change daily,  but the natives are friendly and the place is just plain interesting,  even if you don’t wonder how the owners got separated from their belongings.

Still mad, Michelle?

Having her husband with her on this leg of their Italian trip does not seem to  have improved  the disposition of Our Lady of Perpetual Dissatisfaction,  and her fashion sense remains as warped as ever.  Does she truly think she looks fashionable and fine in that outfit?   I’m sure she does, but the fact that she has to lift the legs of her trousers tells us that they are too long, or that her footwear needs heels.

The pants do nothing to hide her stomach or disguise the considerable size of her rear,  and the white top just reminds us that she is basically flat-chested and very short-waisted.   If I were a fashion designer,  I would not allow the woman to wear anything from my line ,  and if I were her friend,  I’d tell her she needs a seamstress who can fit the clothes she has to make them look better.

Free in Italy…

leave a comment »

Italy is an expensive place to visit,  but here are some fun activities which are free.   I’ve enjoyed several of these delights myself,  and would do so again.

If you’d rather just eat your way across the world sampling desserts,  here’s  a list  of can’t-misses,  some of which I have also been lucky enough to enjoy.   Greed may be good,  but dessert is better!

Colorful streets…

I have heard of  most of these,  and even actually seen a couple,  but I would think that living in one of these cheery buildings would lift your spirits.
