My apologies for the unannounced, unexplained absence, but a trio of family emergencies is responsible. Everyone will survive, but my presence here will be spotty.
Since today is inauguration day for one Donald J. Trump, I thought it would be instructive for you to be aware of the Democratic congress critters who are proving their progressivism and general intolerance and sore loser mentalities by boycotting the inauguration, so here you are.
Of course, they are not actually boycotting the event, merely refusing to attend, which my help explain the strange reasoning they employ to excuse their bad behavior, much of which is based on the outright lies of their beloved Congressional Black Caucus mentors, such as Congressman John Lewis, who has become a parody of himself. The Democrats have no intention of working with Pres. Trump and Republicans to improve the country and help the citizens, and this is but the first warning shot across the bow.
Congressman Charlie Rangel is not running for re-election. Having spent nearly half a century in Congress, and having made himself rich and survived ethics investigations for violations which would have put you and me in jail.
If this were playing out on camera, I’d make popcorn, settle into a chair, and enjoy the show. Unfortunately, we are unlikely to get a live show, just pages of ink, as the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus is subtly threatening to charge other Democrats with racism.
The problem is that some junior Dems are pushing for time limits on committee memberships. Senior Dems are not about to step aside, and certainly no one in the CBC is about to surrender a ranking member position. There are now fewer Democrats in the House than at any time since World War II, and you will see elbows sharpened to rapier points against any white Democrats who try to horn in on what the CBC considers to be its rightful turf.
It will be interesting to see the lengths the CBC will go to in order to exclude its new member, Republican Mia Love, who is as unwelcome there as Col. Allen West was.
That’s what the White House has told the Congressional Black Caucus when it complained that the judicial nominees of His Oneness demonstrated “an appalling lack of diversity”. I do enjoy watching the race-baiters snipe at each other. Of course there is no real diversity sought by either the CBC or the White House, since the prime factor is that all nominees share the same group-think, which prevents any embarrassment over awkward emails which might be necessary if they had to be told what to do.
Rep. Allen West provided Chick-fil-A sandwiches for the Congressional Black Caucus, and its members are now sorely offended! Except the tasty treats were delivered some 6 months ago. Does the CBC have no idea how stupid it looks with one of its members braying on and on about how furiously offended the caucus is?
Will the Congressional Black Caucus really walk out during the contempt vote on Attorney General Eric Holder? Probably, as they view it as much better for them politically to hold a press conference rather than telling the American people that an AG refusing to comply with congressional subpoenas is fine with them because he’s black.
The Congressional Black Caucus is unhappy with His Oneness. But don’t believe CBC Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver when he claims they’d march on Bill Clinton, but not on Obama “…because nobody wants to do anything that would empower the people who hate the president.”
The CBC isn’t marching on His Oneness because His Oneness claims to be black, and the only blacks the CBC will go after are ones who hold conservative views, which is why I have so much fun watching them try to deal with Rep. Allen West.
