It’s not  your typical  battery-powered car,  but still,  a Porsche?

Obama-car replacement batteries…

leave a comment »

If you own a Chevy Volt,  and yours wasn’t among the 8,000 recalled,  yours may not catch on fire,  so congratulations.  You have done your part in helping His Oneness keep his promise that he’d put a million electric cars on the road.   So far GM has made only about 62,000 cars,  even including the European model.

In light of the Obama promise,  Government Motors  got the government to invest $150 million of your tax dollars in a third party manufacturing plant  (owned by Korean company LG Chem)  that can produce 50,000 to 600,000 batteries per year,  so the minimum output is twice the number of Volts sold annually.   The good news is that the batteries are supposed to last 8 years or 100,000 miles.   The bad news  is that said baptisteries will cost somewhere between $3,400 and $34,000 each,  and not the manager of electrification technology communications for GM can say what cost is correct or why.

In other words,  the Volt is just like ObamaCare  —  it costs a fortune,  you can’t fix it,  and it doesn’t work.
