Spot dancing …

No, it’s not the name of a new style of dancing,  but  here’s a video  of Boston Dynamics robot dog Spot dancing to Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk.”

I am not a fan of Bruno Mars,  but I definitely dig this impressive robot, and hope to make friends with one of the 100 they’re constructing so I’ll have capable assistance when the zombie apocalypse arrives.

Can you see evil?

leave a comment »

Can you look at  these sets  of photos and determine which person is a criminal?   Can you do it as well as an A.I. machine,  or is artificial intelligence better at such a task than human intelligence?

If it makes you feel better,  I would have done MUCH worse if I had not accidentally stumbled onto essentially what A.I. does,  and if I had not recognized a few of the  “good”  people..

Creepy robot…

This  is not  a robot I want anywhere around me.   The neural network is a fascinating idea,  and I’m sure it will be improved greatly in the future,  but at the moment it is just humanoid enough to be somewhat disturbing.

Chatbot beats parking tickets…

leave a comment »

The artificial  intelligence lawyer  has successfully contested 160,000 parking tickets in London and New York,  all for free.  Its 19-year-old creator,  London-born second-year Stanford University student Joshua Browder,  is pleased with the 64% success rate,  as he should be.

As for me,  I’m in favor of nearly anything that puts lawyers out of business and makes cities behave.
