Hurricane Florence…

The  editorial  board of  the Washington Post has perhaps three functioning gray cells to share amongst themselves.  Otherwise they would not have claimed that Pres. Trump is somehow responsible for Florence since he doesn’t swallow the man-made global warming baloney.

I lived in South Carolina for a while.   I doubt that the people “fighting over food” are South Carolinians.  If you live on or near the coast, you are always prepared for Mother Nature because she tends to wreak havoc on you.  I now live in a state which has suffered few hurricanes, and I am still fully prepared  —  tarps,  plywood,  hand tools,  canned food,  a power inverter,  gas grill,  medical kit  —  everything necessary in case of disaster.

Rush Limbaugh is correct when he says the climate change advocates are behind the  hysteria.   More people are in harm’s way now because more people have moved to the beautiful coasts.   Like the Florida crackers, the natives built houses on stilts to stay above flooding and storm surges.  The structures won’t make it onto the pages of Architectural Digest , but they are sturdy and functional.  Natives do not turn into fragile little snowflakes after a few days without utilities and take-out food.   Rest assured that those stores which are able to,  will be reopened as soon as possible after Florence passes,  and that includes the WalMarts as well as the neighborhood hardware store.

Having lived through a hurricane and several tornadoes myself,  I don’t wish such dangerous weather on anyone,  but if you’re in the bull’s-eye, leave.  Few win arguments with 150 mph winds or a 20 foot wall of water.  If you survive you’ll have 5 minutes of fame.  If you don’t, you’ll just be a number,  part of a statistical map.  You choose.

UPDATE;  Flo has weakened a bit,  but as  these pix  show,  she is still a beast.
