Slinky toy…

The Slinky was  the result  of an accident and a creative brain.   Developed du;ring WWII,  it never went to war then,  but later did go to Vietnam,  where it was used as an emergency radio antenna.  In the intervening years,  it went to many households,  including mine.  Ours was actually my brother’s,  but he let me play with it since I could not hurt it,  and it fascinated me.  I still have one of the playful tension coils, and I am yet to see the fretful child who isn’t instantly charmed by watching it elegantly maneuver it was down a flight of stairs.
