Thanksgiving Day 2016…
Has the election season caused rifts amongst your family and friends? It has caused some tensions around me, but no one has been uninvited to Thanksgiving dinner because of it.
Such dissension and incivility is a hot topic on MSM, but as Jim Geraghty points out, you do not need assistance from any of them, and most certainly not the New York Times, to survive the occasion. Nor do you need any advice on anything from the ghouls at Planned Parenthood, and various other groups who intend to ruin the holiday.
My family and friends will gather together to eat too much, drink moderately, marvel at how much the children have grown since July 4th or Labor Day, and give thanks that we live in a country where elections are settled by ballots instead of bullets, and where We the People have exercised our right to insist that the country go in a different direction.
By the way, turkey is safe to eat, despite what PETA and the green activists tell you, so enjoy! Our military personnel certainly will. And this is the last presidential Thanksgiving message we will have to hear from His Oneness as he pardons turkeys. As usual, there was no religious reference. President-elect Trump’s message actually mentioned prayer. World Net Dailoy editor Joseph Farah unabashedly offers a prayer for us all.
If you want to gain instant appreciation for the spirit of Thanksgiving, read what this repo man did for an elderly couple. He wasn’t alone in grasping that America is one of the few nations to set aside a day for giving thanks, and that we still have much to be thankful for.
