Time for Thorns

An independent view on life.

John McLaughlin, R.I.P.

Even if you weren’t a fan of  The McLaughlin Group,  which John McLaughlin  anchored for  34 years,  you had to admire the man’s ability to keep up with the times.   When television political commentary became more fast-paced and combative,  he  upped his  game.   Perhaps it was because he  had been,  among other things,  a priest,  which may have given him a wider understanding of the world than most modern pundits can manage.

He was smart,  sharp,  and funny,  and he will be missed.
