Time for Thorns

An independent view on life.

Not sorry…

James Martin offers a  unique perspective  on the bombing of Hiroshima because his uncle,  Maj. Tom Ferebee,  was the bombardier aboard the Enola Gay,  the B-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb.   Anyone who has a clear understanding of war knows that both the Japanese and the Americans would have suffered tremendous casualties if an invasion had been carried out.   The bomb caused tremendous destruction,  but it ultimately prevented further destruction and loss of life.

Neither Pres. Harry Truman,  nor any of the Enola Gay crew should have felt regret for their decisions and actions.   It remains to be seen if His Oneness can quiet his knee-jerk compulsion to apologize for America at every turn when he visits Hiroshima.   Anyone taking bets?
