Prayers for debt…

A Russian Orthodox diocese was able to pay only half of what it owed a contractor for installing a heating system in one of its buildings.   The contractor sued to collect its money,  but in a most unusual turn of events, the church  offered to pray  for the contractor and its employees and families in lieu of payment.   The owners,  being religious themselves, agreed to the first-of-a-kind settlement offer,  and a judge has approved it.

I can’t help but wonder how progressive American judges would have reacted to the notion that prayer has actual value.
