Fouad Ajami, R.I.P.

This is a great shame.  Ajami always fought for humanity with civility and decency,  and by all accounts was a kind and humble academic who brought great wisdom and knowledge to bear on the world,  especially the Arab portions of it.

One person who won’t miss him is Pres. Obama.  In what was likely his last op-ed,  Ajami wrote in the Wall Street Journal:  “Two men bear direct responsibility for the mayhem engulfing Iraq: Barack Obama and Nouri al-Maliki.”    He recognized Mr. Obama for what he was early on,  as you will see in  this Breitbart  piece.

Freedom has indeed lost a most precious,  passionate friend.

Foreign policy fail…

If the recordings  a Polish magazine says it has obtained are what they are purported to be,  Poland’s Foreign Minister said his country’s strong alliance with the U.S. “isn’t worth anything” and is “even harmful because it creates a false sense of security.”

I guarantee that even if the voice is not the Foreign Minister’s,  he is thinking it,  along with a whole host of other foreign leaders.   His Oneness,  Hillary Clinton,  and John Kerry have succeeded in making our allies distrust us and our enemies laugh at our weakness.

A good question…

A federal appeals court judge  has asked  an atheist group trying to keep the Ground Zero cross out of the National September 11 Memorial Museum how displaying the artifact is offensive and violates any constitutional rights.   American Atheists will probably have a monumental task in devising a response this judge will consider adequate.
