Loyal beyond death…

What’s Spanish for Greyfriars Bobby?   Odds are this little girl won’t be rescued unless her dead owner’s family or friends take her in.

The USA has hundreds of thousands of unwanted pets.   I’ve had mutts and purebreds,   most of them rescues,  and all the rescues understood they have been saved and were grateful.   All of them would have turned out to be good dogs in the right hands,  but none of them were as much trouble as Big Girl,  who I think has finally stopped growing,  since her body size is now appropriate for her feet.   BG is a fine companion and absolutely fearless.    She hates rough-running motorcycles and pickups,  but she loves riding in my truck.    If you want a dog or cat,   please look at your local animal shelter.

That’s the title of George Will’s  new column,  which lays out perfectly the difference between the views of liberals and conservatives regarding government.
