Simpson strikes…

leave a comment »

Former senator Alan Simpson is known primarily for his ability to deliver pity quotable material.   Here’s  another,  but keep in mind that Simpson often talked a hell of a lot more fiscally responsible than he actually,  which is why I’m not happy he’s co-chair of President Obama’s deficit commission.

On the other hand,  his email did piss off the Huffington Post,  and that’s always a good thing in my book.

UPDATE:  Simpson  has apologized — shame on him!

Money madness….

Thomas Sowell,  as always,  puts the  matter succinctly.    His Oneness and assorted Democratic flacks are  saying the economy is improving.   The bad news about it is,  of course,   “unexpected.”

There are  plenty who think we’re heading for a  double-dip recession.    Housing is a debacle.    Cities are  selling off their assets to raise funds.    Washington continues its own form  of madness.   As Michael Tanner points out,  the deficit is merely  a symptom of the disease.
