Jihad harmless….
Or so says a new online journalism course on Islam. It’s true, of course, that jihad is not a leading cause of death, but it is beyond misleading to pretend, as progressives do, that jihad is nothing to worry about.
Truth teller…
That would be FBI analyst William Gawthrop, who got caught telling agents to ‘forget Al Qaeda’ and ‘go after the Death Star’ of Islam.
Mr Gawthrop will be punished by the PC police, but he is right.
Muslim converts…
For years I have urged security officials to examine the number of blacks who are converted in prison to Islam, and who was converting them. Then I became concerned about who the converts were converting. Too bad nobody much listened.
And don’t forget the New Black Panthers which DoJ is coddling under Eric Holder.
Religion in the White House…
I do love Mike Lester’s political cartoons…….
Islamic law-fare and charity…
Kathy Shaidle has written about this at her blog, Five Feet of Fury, as have others, and the phenomenon is real. Nina Shea provides the latest Muslim exception to the First Amendment, which is part and parcel of the law-fare effort.
And while we’re on the subject, Andrew McCarthy has a very informative piece on so-called Islamic charitable giving, followed by a post on some of the responses to it, which is also worth your while.
Brave woman…
Veena Malik is indeed a very brave woman. Read about a Pakistani actress standing up to a Muslim cleric, here.
Hope for Egypt?
Perhaps. Read John Guardiano’s post and follow the links. I don’t always agree with Reuel Marc Gerecht, but one can never accuse him of not studying the Middle East and thinking very seriously about it.
I particularly appreciate Gerecht’s view that every Arab state is an unrelentingly immature society. I have long regarded Islam as a religion which deliberately infantilizes its adherents.
Nina Shea has a timely post about the Muslim Brotherhood, and there’s a good article in the Jerusalem Post. Would you be surprised to learn George Soros is involved?
Victor Davis Hanson has a compilation of the Obama Administration’s “flexible” positions on Egypt. I’m afraid Andy McCarthy’s view on what’s coming is most likely.
Pakistani peril…
A Pakistani governor has been murdered by one of his own elite guards, apparently because of his opposition to Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. The Punjab governor was defending a Christian woman accused of violating those laws. For this, he was reportedly shot nine times.
Nina Shea and Paul Marshall have more, here. So-called “moderate” Muslim scholars support the shooter. Islamists are so tolerant, aren’t they?
And while we’re in the neighborhood, this is what the Afghanistan time-lines His Oneness proposed, then waffled about, have brought us.
Just like us…
How many times have the politically correct repeated that Muslims are just like us? Of course they are. I mean we read in the papers every day about some Western Christian mother chopping up her child while listening to the Bible, don’t we?
And Christians are always offering cash for the death of Muslims who they consider to have committed blasphemy, aren’t they?
Geert Wilders test…
Geert Wilders is a very brave man. Holland, like much of the West, has become insanely stupid with regard to individual free-speech rights. And if you think those rights are safe here at home, wake up!
