Trump is the room…
Jesse Kelly, no original fan of Mr. Trump, has written an interesting piece explaining why Trump is able to command respect in a way Barack Obama never could. As someone who worked for corporations for many years, I can attest that some people walk into a room and instantly own it. President Trump can and does. Mr. Obama never could, being far too busy pretending to be someone and something he wasn’t. The only time Mr. Obama was truthful was when he abandoned his ever-present teleprompter for a few seconds. I said of him early on that he had never paid for anything his mouth had purchased. That is still largely true, though it may be that he discovers he can’t throw enough people under the bus quickly enough to save himself.
Mr. Obama was a golden child, happy to bask in the adoration of others without having done anything worthy of such love. Mr. Trump has spent his life dealing with sharpsters, crooks and politicians — but I repeat myself. Like me, Pres. Trump would rather be feared than loved.
