Good queries…
I would like to see someone – anyone – ask EVERY political candidate the questions Jack Abramoff poses here.
Moonshine on city time…
You hear about government workers not doing the work they are paid a salary for, but doing another job. This is the most creative I’ve ever heard of.
Camera-ready creatures…
I’m not an avid devotee of insects generally, although I do enjoy have the beneficial ones which keep my yard and gardens relatively free of the critters that want to eat my produce, but these photos are just gorgeous.
Flying man…
Yves Rossy is crazy, but his exploits produce some highly entertaining video.
Barney Frank going…
This is the best news I’ve had all week. Of course it means that next term Maxine Waters will be the ranking member on that committee… Even good news can carry mixed blessings.
Bridge-building…
This column about the new San Francisco/Oakland Bay bridge is why I loathe politicians, and why I don’t trust government at any level.
Not sleepy…
Scientists have discovered the gene responsible for how long we sleep. It’s not necessarily a pure blessing, and not because we share the gene with fruit flies. Now if they could find a way to disconnect the gene from heart problems and diabetes, I could cut my sleep time down.
Nanny B strikes again….
New York Mayor Bloomberg is an idiot, presiding over a bureaucracy of complete fools, whose mission seems to be to kill joy anywhere it might be padding around on little cat feet.
Mexico comes to Texas…
With drug gang style shootings of law enforcement. But you needn’t worry, because the Obama Administration assures us that the border is more secure than it has ever been and that none of the drug warfare there could ever possibly bleed over into the USA.
Some extra thanks…
This is uplifting, even inspiring, after a day on which we give thanks.
